Still working on the Web Page. It's quite amazing just what you can accomplish with the "Build It Yourself" system.  As soon as I get some more photos done I will post them.
It was in the 90's today, hot and muggy we went to the Zoo with the grand children.  The Cicadas were in full voice singing their mating song. There were so many of them you couldn't get out of their way. They were landing on everyone, on your head, back, arms where ever they could find a place to perch. They are not aggressive insects as a matter of fact they seemed docile and gentle.  We were talking about remembering this day 17 years from now and looking back at what we were doing the last time the Cicadas hatched.

I've been on the computer all day, Whew...... It's quite an experience doing a web page.  I registered with r.Promote today.  The purpose for r.Promote  is to get more traffic to my site via search engines.  Hopefully I can get it to work.
Then I joined the International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists and I decided to have them jury my work. I sent the Guild 8 pictures of my work with detailed descriptions, the members will view the pieces and score them. It takes about a month or longer to find out if your accepted or not. If  you see the little symbol at the bottom of my home page that means I'm accepted.
Their Mission Statement is.......................................
The International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists, Inc. promotes wire art jewelry, seeks public recognition of the art form, educates wire artists, and works to improve business aspects of the art.
A very nice organization I'm happy to be a member. I sure hope the seeds I planted on my web site today bloom into beautiful successful flowers.
Oh my I just noticed it's 8:30pm and I haven't eaten dinner yet, I thought I was getting hungry, now I know why. This web page stuff is addictive!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow is July 4th, so have a Happy Holiday.

I still can't find my web site on Google unless I Google my name. If anybody has found my site any other way would you Please let me know? I fixed few things, so hopefully the Meta Tags will be working better.  Hope your all enjoying our beautiful weather here in the Chicago area.

The class yesterday at Bead in Hand in Oak Park, IL. went well, everyone learned how to make gorgeous hoop earrings!  They look like they mean business, don't they? I give every student a detailed tutorial, so they don't have to take notes. If you look closely you can see the tutorials on the table. The next class will be August 13th, I'll be teaching the Egyptian Spiral Bracelet.
Off to read Harry Potter now!

Hi everyone, well I've been in a Copper & Sterling Silver faze. Check out my new earrings and pendant. The pendant was actually an extra earring that came about as I was trying several different methods of creating the earrings. I liked the way it came so I thought I'd make a pendant out of it. As you can see I did one pair of earrings (in the pendant style)  in all Sterling Silver and the other in Sterling and Copper. I had fun making the Star & Sun earring it's a variation of one of my other designs can you guess which one? Actually the Sun and Star earrings gave me the idea for the Copper Coil earrings. The other earring is a variation of the focal bead in the all sterling silver bangle. These new earrings are my take on some basic wire art techniques it's fun to see just how many variations you can create from one basic technique.

August 9, 2007,
I decided to antique the Hoop earrings with the Sterling Silver bead. They came great, they make a stunning set with the matching Bangle Bracelet. It's gotten to late to photograph them tonight. I'll photograph them and post them tomorrow, that is if I can them way from my daughter long enough. She loves the way they came out and particularly the way they look with the bracelet.

I put the photos up of the SS Hoop earring that matches the bangle bracelet. Take a look, I also put a picture of the earrings with the bracelet. I think I do like it oxidized a little better than without, the oxidizing gives it a whole different look and a lot more demention. My daughter wore the set to work today and it got a lot of attention. Smile
Looking forward to teaching the Egyptian Spiral bracelet on Monday, August 13th at Bead in Hand. I'll post photos of the class on the 14th. Until then...........................

The class was great on Monday the 13th. The students did a super job on the Egyptian Spiral. Their going to work on it at home in Silver and we'll finish up on Monday the 20th. Hopefully I'll get some pictures for you all to see.
My daughter got bitten by one of those Itch Mites that have been on the news. They are really something, the ER's and Doc's offices are filled with people that have gotten bitten. Since it's been in the news everyone will probably not panic now that they know what it is. She got lucky she only has one.
I've put up some more pictures. I photographed a few of my faceted stone prong rings. Faceted stones are the hardest to photograph because of how the facets catch the light. Back to work..........I have another tutorial to write.

August 24, 2007,
The students did a fabulous job with their Egyptian Spiral bracelets on Monday the 20th. We were so into doing the bracelet the I forgot to take pictures.
Good news! Smile I was accepted as a juried member of the International Guild of Wire Jewelry Artists. Their logo is posted on my home page. It's quite an honor everyone dosen't pass, the judges are tough, as they should be.
Our area was hit with severe weather, extremely high winds, lightning, thunder storms and tornado sightings yesterday. Many old trees were lost,  there is severe flooding and thousands of people still don't have power. Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt, it's a miracle. They said on the news that it will be months before everything is cleaned up and back to normal. The whole country is having severe weather of one type or another. I hope this isn't a preview of whats to come.

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've blogged. My son and his family moved to Florida so that has keep me quite occupied. I just returned from a trip to their new home in beautiful sunny Florida.  The gorgeous ocean is practically in their backyard, needless to say it was wonderful.  Although we will miss the day to day contact now that their so far away and when they need grandma it's a plane ride away. Oh well it's a tough job but somebody has to do it! (smiles)
I've scheduled several classes at Bead In Hand in Oak Park, IL. I'm looking forward to teaching these great designs. The next class will be held on Monday November 19th after that all the classes will be in 2008.
P.S. a few pictures of the ocean
